Intentions

Blink twice

click your heels

this isn’t Kansas anymore

this shit is real

cake and jewelry

debates and All my Children.

Flee.

Deny deny deny

she was all in your head

playing over and over again

I don’t even like the Wizard of Oz

who needs a heart

tin around my body

soldier going to war

kiss your loved ones

I’ll never be the same.

Camera

Rapid lens

capturing memories

watching her walk for the first time

watching her love for the first time

black and white

true color is in the eyes

real feelings are in the mind

real love is in the heart.

Tripod holding

button squeezing

the new memory like

a new-born baby.

Pages filled

weary and drained

the gallery of life

will never feel the same.

Bed

Breakfast than sex

peanuts and Powerade

second helping of both.

Wood sinks into the titles

shattering the boundaries

creating space

destroying space

kiss they on the face

Peanuts and Powerade

frequent visits to the doctor

doctor love

doctor of your mind

doctor of your spirit

testing your soul

can you read above the line

can you answer the question

where will you be

when the lights go out?
