starfish-

written and erased

hundreds of words forgotten

the oceans tide beats on my back

laid out on the sun the kids called me a starfish

i have written lines in the sand

so they exist for a moment

a poem or a song i carry with me

now surfing on the waves- free

i can see them smiling

i have kept them in cages with no windows for years

i needed to take them out for a walk

before work in the morning

stayed up all night;

spent two on a dime

not drugs not women

two dollars on a dime

it was lucky

linked with a chain and we share birthdays

and the other day

it went on an adventure

got some tacos

found love

wrote a poem

lost love

found love again

got more tacos

went bowling

tried the new italian place on creek because you heard it was the best spot in the city

saw a play

kiss goodnight

and came back to me

with a story

a story of effort when the jug was less than half full

more than half silenced by a laugh

i will be laughed at for losing a dollar eighty

but will tell our stories our way

trampoline;

you are a trampoline

for everyone you love in your life

bouncing high in the air

while you slowly sink in the ground

you are a relic of the home that once was

aged with time and vine while they sip wine as fine divine

but i will save you from the museum

not a treasure to worship

but a dancing queen to worship

a treasure on her own pirate ship

sailing and everything rounding her finger tips-

and will frame that trampoline

every great story has a beginning

Perfecto

“The life you live is more important than the words you speak.”

-Mac

Chasin’ perfect and on the surface

I look so fine but really I’m

been runnin’ round missin’ makin’ somethin’ out of nothin’

catch twenty one- first time

I caught time it was fine until the lines

broken the goldmine. Please- stay a minute

will leave these spacesuits and fall back down

before you give me the boot. Curing clocks

just a gearbox we made to give a day meaning

just the same repeating all on coarse-

crash landing right on schedule to wake me from this faithful dream-

perfect.

Fight The Feeling

“They’re gonna try to tell you no, shatter all your dreams. But you gotta get up, and go and think of better things.” – M

Breathe- never fight it just let life in

an empty map not to mark it would be a mortal sin

meet your twin

out livin’ laughin’ makin’ love till the season changes

and it ranges but she is an angel

makin’ life worth lovin’ she told me

you can’t fight the feeling

never wasted moments been at my lowest

left with your condolence my own opponent

endless roaming and never frozen

but I was chosen through self demotion

can’t feel emotion just want to live on the ocean

through all the commotion I can hear her say-

you can’t fight the feeling.

you can’t fight the feeling.

when asked when to love;

never put much stock in the market

wanted to

be the standout price or waited for one to find me

silly or asleep

being to bee but always the worker never the queen

crying fiend

two types and always the catcher catching when you fall

standing tall

call when you say you miss me always nearby you make me wanna

be a good guy

when you say i love you i know the time is right now

here somehow

markets closed now lesson learned when asked when

now and then

time and again the one will find you and never a minute ahead
