taking a step back

noticed the door closed.

eyes dripping to the toes

nails melt around the knob

knees kiss the earth

trial of a turn.

fumbled away

the keys

the doorway

or a way back.

not meant for everyone

chasing a dream

a dream I had once

a dream of something

normal. The old normal.

A culdesac barbecue block party

with a domestic drink

and a domestic life.

This is different.

The smell of a culdesac

turns me vegan.

tops of children’s

just the blades

marched on towards the sun.

Messanger let them pass

let them pass

not an oar on their canoe.

perfect home

quiet

the end of the day

a cold one

and a beer.

Forsake the spire

for guidance.

Sink

sink low

just a little

lower

and

you’ll find me

“Have a little faith”

I hear it and hear it

yet here I am

stranded

waiting for a check to

bounce.

I’ll Have Another

The sun is relentless

with constant screams

riding my neck

like a jockey.

2012 was my year

our year

now what is left

to do

Nameless Timeline

March 4, 2018 SamT.GutierrezLeave a comment

It shouldn’t matter

but it does.

Filed away

my blue name

till it ran clear.

Mirror shows

a family man

with two kids,

I don’t know

their names.

They ask for mine.

Blink, and they still

stand. Pillow is too soft

Reality too sharp

and the bells too loud.

Quote~

And as imagination bodies forth
The forms of things unknown, the poet’s pen
Turns them to shapes and gives to airy nothing
A local habitation and a name.

William Shakespeare
(A Midsummer Night’s Dream)
