Numbers

Counting and counting

the rules break

the boards clear

and you’ll stand taller.

Sweat on my brow

soft finger of lifting spirits

and will charge the light

with blinding shields as visors

counting numbers like bills

on the heart of a goddess.

She’ll arise under the same light

precious eyes and blushed skin

crunching her mind

and I’ll bite the light

only I shall count

the number of truths.

I was on another level. Flying high

too high.

Clipped by reality  -destroyed by gravity

ripped out of my chest – fatality

enough with analogy

I see the birds flying high

praying tragedy doesn’t strike twice

praying tragedy will be kind

praying the night will creep

away-

treasure- you are – the time came

and we flew away.

Diana

Believe in the moon we worship

on Bay Hill wishing to be a mountain.

Tumbling down the rabbit hole

the place we used to call home

where the moon came down from her castle

to feast with her subjects

or ex lovers.

Kissing at the top of the hill before

the sun will show his face and

cast her to the side-

us to the side.

Trainer Orange Ep. 30

Trainers flooded the entrance.

“Martain! Hey, dad?” Franklin scurried through the crowds.

“Hey, Franklin we can’t look for much longer. Our matches are gonna start soon,” Vanessa reminded.

Franklin’s paniced expression warped into determination.

“Ladies and Gentlemen!” The crowd erupts to the voice of the play by play analyst.

“Round thirty-two’s will begin! After today we will have eight remaining!”

“First match of the day, our defending champ, our electric lady, Vanessa!”

Vanessa graced steps echoed the crowds roars as the spotlight followed her light work.

“Her opponent, you know him well, the mind-reader, Max!”

The max chant stormed the stadium like a lighting storm.

“Wow a rematch of last year’s finals,” Daisy whispered. “Get him big sis!”

Max white boots clacked along the stadium floor, his long white scarf dangled to his heels, and his usual showsmanship, floated three Pokeballs above his fingers.

The referee didn’t say a word and lifted his hand, the signal.

Max moved first, “It’s an Exeggcute!”

Exeggcute was a peach Pokemon, six peach eggs with different expressions and eye movement.

Vanessa returned serve, “Ah a Voltorb!”

Voltorb, looked like a Pokeball. Top red and bottom white with a large grin and sharp eyes.

“And the battle is on its way!”

Golden Oasis

Shackle me whole

fill me with your helium filled lies.

Chain me down

to an earth crusted melting pot.
This is not my home.

I remember the light sand

falling between my fingers.

The antique shop our uncle
bought his first guitar. I’ll run

when I can. Flee to the memory

of his first note. To the sun

shimmering off the golden
specs of dust.

Trainer Orange Ep. 19

Franklin shook in place. Fingers tingled at the final ball. Crowd fell to the crowning lights and Franklin felt their animosity.

Julie showed her final ball, a yellow ball with black webbing, thrown high into the lights transformed into candy red. The Pokemon that emerged wore a grand crimson flower atop its slim berry body.

“That is a rare one, we have a Vileplume! Lucky for the gym leader’s daughter!” The crowd broke their silence and cheered for Julie.

Vileplume’s beady dark red eyes shook as it tried to maintain balance. Franklin peered at his remaining Pokeball and into the faceless crowd.

“You can do it Franklin” He turned and met his fathers eyes.

Franklin, loss of breath and grips the Pokeball tightly and launched it forward at Vileplume.

The Pokemon that emerged was a familiar sight, “Another rare one on the islands, it’s a Vulpix!”

Franklin’s wide eyes shook and his palms fell open, jaw quivered, “Last round trainers, let’s battle!”

Franklin curled his fist and replaced the shake in his eyes with fire, “Vulpix, fire spin!”

Vulpix spewed swirl fire flames towards an unprepared Vileplume and became immersed in super effective fire.

Julie looked side to side looking for a way to save her Pokemon.  Vileplume mimicked her trainers actions and stood idle.

“Vulpix, flame wheel!” Vileplume only saw the spin and wheel crashed into its torso propelling back into a firm stone. The spin concluded and Vulpix emerged from a flame cocoon in front of Vileplume.

“Vileplume is unable to battle, Vulpix, and Franklin win the match!” The crowd, to Franklin’s surprise, cheered.
