one spell – two bell

the way we tell it, i found you-

really, you found me;

a wanderer,

and you;

never let me stray,

your eyes found me

deep into my arms

shut off all my alarms

while smiling

file two smile and i’ve been yours

walking that extra mile-

you found me walking nowhere in circles

a dream and two cents

and now its three and a mission

a magician with a spell

and with your permission

i’ll make this the last one

ring the one bell

Jet Fuel

Woke up this morning

With a bright idea

Maybe I can exist

Forever right here:

pulled up with two to my name

nothing but a dream of fame

the lonely girl in the back screamin’ same

i’ll be here longer then you expected

spread all this magic i’ve collected

screamin’ louder then all ya’ll projected

change in the moment

change for the moment

singin’ over this fountain drinkin’ your bestowment

flyin’ high feelin’ real cool(cool)

stylin’ smoke chillin’ i’ll never run out of jet fuel

until I run out of jet fuel

Fate in your hands

While you’re waitin’ for me

I’m already there

Fallin’ in deep

Now is only now

Head back to the ground, dear

three women – thank you

you watched me fall

you watched me climb, still watching

i know in her visions i am never stopping

a workhorse, mane and all

and i thank you for that:

dreaming on days when i can’t sleep

moving forward when my feet feel like concrete

living when i wasn’t sure how too

and i could never repay you-

i find myself wondering where you are,

if you’re still in the same city, playing the same guitar:

i left on a broken down car in the middle of a storm

lost in memories, in a jeep, with a ghost and you

no phone, no address, no one

a seven on my arm drawn in charcoal

the same one i drew on a casket not an hour earlier

and i haven’t seen you since

i hope you made it out of the storm too-

i love you- with only nine lines i couldn’t begin to explain

the light that i see in you, it is blinding

and i don’t need my mask, exposed to all of you;

it feels fucking great

your body in my hands warms my soul

my heart beats out of my chest when you’re near

and it’s been like that since you’re light touched me-

you’ll change the world, you’ve already changed mine

thank you

saint III

i looked you in the eyes

and i took your words as gospel

preacher of the light

the filler of void

an anchor in the middle of the ocean

and on this cruise, you were the voice of reason

that outfit you can wear during any season-

i pray to you;

before thy i kneel and worship the grace you give

the challenge in your eyes gives strength to those

that can’t will themselves from bed

that can’t summon the strength

that wish for change and are granted borrowed time from your generous hands

that you for the gifts wrapped in neat bows

an angel from below i thought sent to curse

to burn

yet you tend to my gardens

for i

for i am only a humble poet

a dancer of water for the moons wishes

a singer for those souls that cherish the moments that never end

and you granted my wish

for that;

i will love in my borrowed time

i will write about your words

about your beauty

about this life, from this view

truth of the day

chances are

i have seen the worlds true colors

bright amber in the morning

dusk ivy in the evening-

greed only calls in the night

at the door past 2am-

uses her key, the one i gave all those years ago

the smell of her perfume send me clawing at the wall

she’ll leave the next morning –

blood fresh under her fingernails, heels in her relaxed fingers

and the amber rays will watch the flesh

heal on the day

makin’ the day

feelin’ the day

here for the day.

same problem – different day

and it is always me

caught in the darkest corner of my mind

wandering aimlessly destroying the structure that wasn’t

in the last invasion claiming the lives of more innocent thoughts-

i can put down the knife but i can’t hide it

when i am not looking, i will continue to cut and stab and kill

until this home is a crime scene;

there are only a few calm moments

a voice that sends me, the other me

running- running to a place i have yet to evict

to a place he calls home that has it all put together

but

when i am gone:

picket fence repainted

door mat dusted

time for books to be placed back on the shelf

photo albums rebound

dinner in the oven

albums placed next to the sega genesis

and

i

can

breathe

Perfecto

“The life you live is more important than the words you speak.”

-Mac

Chasin’ perfect and on the surface

I look so fine but really I’m

been runnin’ round missin’ makin’ somethin’ out of nothin’

catch twenty one- first time

I caught time it was fine until the lines

broken the goldmine. Please- stay a minute

will leave these spacesuits and fall back down

before you give me the boot. Curing clocks

just a gearbox we made to give a day meaning

just the same repeating all on coarse-

crash landing right on schedule to wake me from this faithful dream-

perfect.

Fight The Feeling

“They’re gonna try to tell you no, shatter all your dreams. But you gotta get up, and go and think of better things.” – M

Breathe- never fight it just let life in

an empty map not to mark it would be a mortal sin

meet your twin

out livin’ laughin’ makin’ love till the season changes

and it ranges but she is an angel

makin’ life worth lovin’ she told me

you can’t fight the feeling

never wasted moments been at my lowest

left with your condolence my own opponent

endless roaming and never frozen

but I was chosen through self demotion

can’t feel emotion just want to live on the ocean

through all the commotion I can hear her say-

you can’t fight the feeling.

you can’t fight the feeling.

Best Day Ever

I never took a day off

work around the clock never stop never falloff.

I never said goodbye to Trevor

left in a hurry always a new endeavor

a brother and I’ll miss the way you said whatever

whoever whenever this life wasn’t forever but wherever you are

you’re here with me like Common will let it Be

a Seven and a dream we made one hell of a team.

No matter where life takes me, find me with a smile

pursuit to be happy, only laughing like a child.

I never told Malcolm what he meant to me

through depression living life under suppression

now making progression through self-expression

and this is my confession that you walked me through

and when it’s my time I wrote this for you

you on the drums and I’ll be on the keys

a jam session no questions.

Now I know the difference between the ground and the floor

if we got to fight, I’ll be down for the war

thumbs up-

Thanks to you, I never turned by back on love

like a fool thought I was cool but you’re such a jewel

and I never thought life would get this sweet

it got me cheesin’ from cheek to cheek

weak in my knees at ease antifreeze

and I ain’t going to wait for nothing

cause that just ain’t my style

it’s you when I smile

watching you walk down the aisle

life couldn’t get better

this gon’ be the best day ever.
