S.D.S.

We made it to beach city

yellow trousers and a sun cap

dancin’ till the music out of season

we don’t need a reason stay here all night

treason. Makin’ love with the right one

till the end of the run- tonight- we dance

till the fire burns out,

oh shit we’re on fire

somebody do something

uhhhhhhhh false alarm

cryin’ wolf is not my party trick

maybe I’m just a little home sick

feelin’ to quick to stay but to weak to notice

hangin’ on by a thread flying lotus

pray for the bullet in my head thrusting

somebody do something

somebody do something

move something such a tough thing

just a pair of trousers

chasing this princess maybe I’m Bowser

keep tryin’ with some flowers

debate riskin’ it all but I’m such a coward

fuck it- off with the trousers.

On Set for the Perfect Scene

It wasn’t just a hint-

came bursting on the scene

not a cameo

this role was made for you

no tights but I’ll be there for you

not a stunt double will enjoy the view-

you told me this was my golden year

then that makes you my golden girl

loads of pearls

bottom of the ocean, show you all the world.

Cheesy, maybe, but it’s times like this

that remind me I still have a heartbeat

so hold on sweetheart

and wait for the downbeat

you have the main main seat.

Ghost in the Ash

Chances are – I’ve hit the top.

Seen the blistering clouds up close

let it rinse around,

made the moves that melted the rim

treasure the memories it wasn’t very grimm-

Not a hymn but a melody,

a rhyme sippin’ on something without a lime

and a loss of time.

Sittin’ in a dark room

countin’ trophies on the wall

watchin’ them set a blaze. A fire

as the past burns to the ground

time was found and it’s a pile of ash.

It’s time to build a new

shelf from scratch. Without a match

make another catch send a another rap

write-

trophies are just symbol of the past

so the path will be blocked

a ghost in the ash

myself from the past

sweepin’ away the trash

as I write a new path.

Don’t Mind If I Do

Something easy

didn’t think of it

just showed up and what did I make of it:

it’s just lovely

a flowing petal of glory

maybe not glory

way more beauty

just a glory to look upon you and see you

really see you

a warmth in your soul brings me to my knees

a light in your eyes- what I hope you see in mine

maybe in time, I’ll hold it all and

I’d like to make my self believe

That planet earth turns slowly

It’s hard to say that i’d rather stay awake when I’m asleep

Cause everything is never as it seems,

except you, and I love it all

I’ll take it all sayin’

don’t mind if I do.

Clarity

Clarity- figure all this out,

a problem I didn’t do the math to get.

Waiting by the window, a force

is on its way just sit and enjoy the view

comfortably, didn’t know

breathing would be this easy

an inhaler when I’m coughin’

tossin’ and you’re the cover

when it’s cold out. Just a smile

from you and I’ll carry it

like a trophy from my little one

hold me down, calm me down

and you’re still around.

It’s a full day, a break in May

beggin’ you to stay

the lens of my mind a true find

one of a kind and I’m sleeping fine.

You take away the pain and I thank you for that

If I ever get the chance, bet I’m paying you back.

I’mma be waiting for that

Rant of a Yesterday Boy

What would you have done?

Hiding in plain sight

reading between the lines-

a loss of word.

It’ll keep you up

heartbeat in your palms

and tempted-

it’s a memory.

The rant of a yesterday boy

and today is a day not

for day dreams.

Helpless then but I can

today, said by the boy yesterday

and the day before

the day before

day before.
