Sharp Colors

I didn’t know

until you weren’t here.

The color was always on

my pallet, accentuate,

me.

I was selfish with the color,

ran dry,

moving oceans painted red

bleeding through the canvas

onto my knees. Traded

brush

for pity.

Never been

to the bottom

of the bottle.
