High Noon

It was never meant to be easy.

Walked tall, a pistol at your side

and the saloon-was closed.

Now hiring and you chuckled

Smoke rising above your head

horse trotting to Western song playing in your head

riding off into the sunset for the thousandth time.

It’ll never be enough.
